Enoch Cree Nation Cultural Interpretive Centre Feasibility Study

CES had the honour of working with its valued client, Enoch Cree Nation to develop a feasibility study for a stunning cultural interpretive centre within the community. The vision for the centre is a space for Enoch’s community members to gather, connect with their culture, embrace their common ancestry, and share traditions and teachings with visitors to the nation. The centre honours the need to have a dedicated space where community members can come to learn, practice, and engage in the traditional teachings, values, and history of their nêhiyaw culture. This meant creating a place for knowledge transfer, ceremony, honouring Elders, sharing stories, healing, revitalizing the language, instilling pride, educating youth, and more.

Of course, this project involved an inclusive community engagement process along with collaboration with an architect for the thoughtful design of the building. The study also encompassed considerations associated with the site location, facility layout, and usage. Cultural programming at the centre as well as human resource needs, followed by a market assessment were included. The goal was to define an operating premise that ensured sustainability for years to come.
